Oneplus 7 Appears on Retail Site Now

The OnePlus 7 is expected to be announced soon, but it looks like a retailer has given us a first glimpse of the handset. While we can’t comment on Giztop’s reliability, the list seems legitimate.

We’re all curious to see what the OnePlus 7 has in store for us afte this year. Until then, it seems that we have a first glimpse of the recent version.

In terms of specifications, the list indicates that it will offer the following::

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC clocked at 2.84 GHz, with Adreno 640 GPU
  • 128/256 GB ROM Variant
  • RAM variant 8/12 GB
  • 4000mAh battery with 44W in-dash powered
  • Oxygen OS 9, powered by Android 9.0
  • Configuration of three rear cameras 48MP+20MP+5MP
  • 16MP pop-up selfie camera
  • Built-in fingerprint sensor on the display
  • 6.5-inch waterproof AMOLED display

Keep in mind that these specs seem reasonable, but we’ve seen Samsung introduce bold ROM variants with the Galaxy S10. We’d better see a 1TB or 512GB variant if it wants to be fully competitive in the market.

Since many of the newer Oppo phones-like the F11 Pro-have pop-up camera phones, it’s certainly possible that the OnePlus has this technology as well, as it comes from the same company, BBK Electronics.

So far, the pop-up camera and the SoC are the most credible parts of the specifications, the rest is certainly subject to change. Given that we are still a long way from seeing a successor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or something to follow the 855 so quickly, we can assume that the 855 will power the entire experience.

We also don’t know if OnePlus plans to use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor or if they will stick with the one that currently powers the OnePlus 6T. given that Samsung has increased the bet with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, OnePlus will have to raise or call the chips on the table.

Although we do not have a date for the unveiling of the OnePlus 7, we can only hope that they will hold the press conference as soon as possible. With other budget phones like the Xiaomi Mi 9 already making waves, it’s going to be a tough year for the competition.
